Accademia Museum, the David and Pisa

Touring Florence

The David - This picture won me $250 dollars.  I was in a contest for Solle.  Who could come up with the best picture with their products.  I was surprised I won.  But this was a great idea!

The David is so amazing.  Every detail is sculpted.  The kids - especially Mikaela were a little embarrassed, but by now we had seen a lot of naked sculptures so it wasn't as bad. :)

You can't see that behind Karsten was a statue of a girl and her dog, but Karsten really wanted me to get a picture of it.

I loved this!  It was a picture of the different hair styles and a description of it.

Leaving florence.

On to Pisa...

Koby also entered a contest with our local orthodontist.  He won a $25 gift card for his picture.

We had a hard time getting this picture down.  Everyone does the same pose trying to hold up the tower.

Pisa was very cool.  Not much else around the town but the tower and the church.

Lucca and Cinque Terre

A few more pictures from our Villa before we headed out.

This is the old house where Matt and his family lived in Mercogliano.  So cool he still remembers where it is.  This little town is so charming.  I know why his mom was so drawn to it.

Making our way to the Rome Temple.  It was supposed to be the open house while we were there.  But at least we got to see it. :)

This is a funny story.....We stopped at a rest stop and there was this group of ladies having a bridal shower.  Matt thought he would get in on the fun. :)

Our new Villa in Lucca just outside Florence.

The kids loved having a pool at a both places.

Such beautiful surroundings!

Our second Sunday - before church.

I think Koby took this picture.  In the same drive way of our Villa there was an old barn.

Driving with Matt is always an adventure - but in Italy you just have to close your eyes and pray.

Train from La Spezia to Cinque Terre (Corniglia).  Koby wasn't too happy with us so he went into hiding. :)

We did the most amazing hike.  Probably one of our most favorite parts of the trip.  The kids did great!

I only had to hold the boys a couple of times.

But it was very hot!!

The views were amazing!

But then we got to the beach.
