The next Sharpay & Ryan

We had a ward talent show last Friday and Mikaela and Koby wanted to perform. Mikaela has molded Koby into quite the little performer. She leads, he follows. They did really well...the second time through. :) (Kai also wanted to participate so half way through the song he ran to the piano and climbed up messing everyone up. I was filming and didn't really want to get him, but I could see the others were struggling so I grabbed him and they had to start over. I am not putting that video on, but it was really funny!)(Once again you will need to pause the music at the bottom of my blog to hear this.)

Easter Pics

We had a fun low key Easter Weekend. The weather wasn't very good. Here are some pictures we took. One fun part was Matt's friend gave us some eggs filled with confetti. The older kids had so much fun with this! Kai however will never look at or touch another Easter egg. The worst part about it is that we hadn't done our family Easter egg hunt yet, so when it came time for that it was only the older two that got eggs. They were excited because that meant more for them. :)

So this is Koby getting me with the confetti egg. Also here is my pregnant belly for those of you who keep bugging me to see it. Cute Bailey yesterday at church kept coming up to me and saying Ball, Ball as she was pointing to my belly. (And yes I have heard many times if I have seen the Taco Bell commercial. And no I don't have the 7 layer dip hiding inside. :))

Our attempt at a family photo. It was really windy!

Cute kids!

Pretty Kai - This was Mikaela's doing. She really wants a sister!

Spring Break

The kids had this week off for Spring Break. We didn't want to go too far so we decided to do some fun things around here. We took them to Seattle and rode up in the space needle. They had a lot of fun! Then we went to the beach. We had never been. It was cold, but the kids still had fun.

At Pike Place - We were hoping to see them throw some fish, but no such luck. Koby thought it smelt bad.

We rode this bike around the beach town of Seaside. We paid for an hour but I have no stomach muscles left so Matt had to do most of the work. (And lots of it was uphill.) After having three contractions in 15 minutes, we were done. At least we said we did it. :)

Cannon Beach

Our Funny Kai

So I haven't laughed much for the past 8 months, but Matt brought something to my attention the other night at dinner that had me laughing so hard I had to hold my belly. :) Our sweet Kai has had trouble with his speech so we put him in speech therapy. He has done amazing and is speaking much better, but his perception on things is still way off. It was a normal dinner - Pasta, and salad. This time however, I had put croutons on the salad. Kai was eating and jabbering saying a few words we could understand and asking for more soup and chicken. We were having neither of these foods, but I totally knew what Kai wanted. Matt then made the comment that made me laugh. He said "So to Kai, pasta is soup, any kind of meat is chicken, (and now I guess croutons) a car is a truck and only he knows what a chicken-duck is!" So this might not be funny to you, but I still laugh when hearing it. You just got to love little kids! So this video is my attempt to get Kai to talk to me, but as you will see they never do anything on cue and he was being very silly. But I thought it went too perfect with this posting. :) (You will need to go to the bottom of my blog and pause the music to hear this.)

Teeth, teeth and more teeth!!

So I guess Koby was feeling left out of the whole teeth thing. He actually hasn't lost one tooth and he is almost 7. I think he is the only 1st grader I know to not have lost a tooth. :) His bottom two teeth have been loose for a while, but he was a little scared to have Matt and I wiggle them. So on Monday, Mikaela was giving him a pep talk about how to pull your own teeth out. I went in the bathroom and asked if I could give it a try. He said sure and I pulled out not one, but two teeth! He did so good. He didn't even cry. I have never seen two kids more excited about loosing teeth. Mikaela was just as excited for him. Now they can go through the awkward stage together! :)

Braces

I honestly can't believe I have a child old enough for braces. I do take some comfort in knowing that they put braces on a whole lot earlier these days. That way I don't feel so old! Mikaela unfortunately has my terrible teeth. We have been told from a very young age that she would need lots of teeth work. She got her braces on last week and there has been lots of drama from our drama queen. But she is doing better and can eat pretty normal now. She is a trooper!

Before

After

She also had an expander put in the top of her mouth to expand her teeth because everything was pretty crowded. After only a week, she has a very big gap between her two front teeth. (That is a picture she doesn't want me to take.) She is being such a good sport about all of this.
