My Shadow

When I said Makai was doing great with Karsten... I think it was a little pre-mature. I just don't think he new what was going on until now. I have to say that in 6 weeks he has only hit him twice and turned his bouncer sideways once. (While the baby was in it.) It could be worse! So I have a love hate relationship with church. Kai will not go to nursery anymore and cries when any of the leaders even look at him. He clings with one hand on my dress and follows me everywhere. Thankfully other people take the baby. (Except when it is time to nurse and then we all head into the mother's room.) I use to like going to church, but now I just pray to get through the three hours without shedding a tear. :) But I love my Kai, Kai. I know that in a few years he will have nothing to do with me so I should cherish these moments - Right? :) I mean look at this smile. He melts my heart!

6 weeks old

Can you believe Karsten is 6 weeks old? Time of coarse has gone by fast.

Koby's 7th B-Day

Koby is now 7. He told me he is the youngest in his class and the last one to turn 7. He also has only lost two teeth. :) But our Koby is a very smart boy. He did so well on his report card and is reading books that 4th and 5th graders can read. He is so sweet to his brother Karsten. He rocks him to sleep all the time for me. (He tries to be sweet to Kai and Kaela, but it is a little harder.)

We love you Kobes!!

Last day of school

Here is Mikaela with her teacher Ms. Willott

And Koby with his teacher Mrs. Peters.

They were both such great teachers!!! We will miss them.

Who does Karsten look like?

Funny thing - Matt doesn't think Karsten looks like anyone in the family. He also thinks he has all my coloring. I do have to say that his hair is a lot lighter and has more red/orange in it then the other kids, but his skin coloring is gorgeous!! He has beautiful deep blue eyes and in my mind he looks just like Kai. (Just not as chubby.) We take pictures of the kids right when they get home from the hospital in the same pose. Mikaela and Koby's pictures are not as in focus, but Kai's and Karsten's look like they could be twins. We will see if they continue to look like each other the older they get. Karsten also looks a lot like Mikaela as a baby. We will see......

Daddy & Karsten

I thought I would put a picture of Matt and Karsten on because we don't have one of them yet together. Matt seems pretty happy! :)

Sweet Baby Boy

I just thought I would post some pictures of Karsten. He goes through sometimes three outfits a day, so it is fun to see him in new clothes. (Especially because Koby and Kai wore them.)

Mikaela & Koby

Here are some pictures from Koby's 1st grade musical. You can still see the lingering bump on his forehead. And Mikaela had her first track meet. She did so good. She took 1st place in the 100 meter dash and was well ahead of everyone in her group. She also did standing long jump and softball throw.

Kobyisms

I don't have any pictures to post with this, but I just have to write a few things that have just cracked us up this past week. Last Friday we were at Kaela's soccer game and Koby was playing with friends. Well that turned into him running and hitting into a big metal pole. I honestly don't think I have ever seen a goose egg that big on a forehead. As we were walking to the car this is the conversation...
Koby: I feel like I got brain damage.
Mom: Well you hit your head pretty hard.
Koby: But I am still really smart... I still know what 100*100 is. :)

Next, last night Koby had his first grade musical play. Koby was lucky enough to be the MC. He only had two parts plus his singing, but he got to start off the play. He had a yellow dot he was suppose to stand on - let's just say he would not leave his yellow dot. Even when he had to hand the mic of to the other kids, he made them come to him or he reached really hard to hand it to him with out moving his foot off the yellow dot. Matt's two comments were "This isn't twister" and "Koby has serious rain man syndrome." But he did really good in his parts and in his singing. His facial expressions cracked me up. He needs to be an actor!

Lastly, this happened about a month ago when I had just made dinner. I made enchiladas with elk meat that my dad hunted. (Let me just say that Koby doesn't eat much meat because he thinks it is too chewy.) This is our conversation....
Mom: Do you like the meat?
Koby: What is it?
Mom: It is Elk - Grandpa hunted it and now we get to eat it.
Koby: (With a look of disgust on his face.) No way - I am never eating Elk again. I want them to live. I like Elk.

So Koby will probably be our little vegetarian. Sorry dad. :)
