Koby's Special Day!

Koby had a wonderful Baptism and it was definitely filled with the Spirit.  Mikaela got to play the piano before, after and while Koby was changing.  She did an amazing job and even played a piece that she made up.  I gave the opening prayer and was so overwhelmed that I couldn't even get through it without tearing up.  G&G Skousen were chosen by Koby to give both the talks.  Grandma gave a great talk on Baptism with the Baptism Bear and Grandpa gave a special talk on the Holy Ghost.  We sang as a family and Matt almost couldn't finish the song.  Matt did a wonderful job in his blessing.  We are so grateful to have a worthy priesthood holder that brings the spirit into our family.  We had so much love and support and were so grateful for everyone who participated and came.  I am so proud of my eight year old.  He is truly a special spirit and Matt and I both felt that he is here on earth for a very important reason.  After he got in his suit - that had to have a flower in it - he came and gave me, Mikaela, Kai and Karsten all a kiss.  The tears came quickly again.  We love you Koby!

The missionaries were the witnesses.  We are so lucky to have them in our home often and to be close with them.

Koby's special Gifts.

Koby got some neat gifts for his Baptism.  (I am sorry I won't be able to name them all.)  G&G Skousen got him his own scriptures with his name on them.  He was very excited!  He was especially excited to compare his with his dad's and he can't wait to take them on his mission!   His Uncle Todd and Aunt Jolynn got him a small Hymn book with his name on it also.  He has never sat so still in Sacrament meeting!  G&G Smith got him a very neat Baptism book that we were able to write down all of his memories in.  We also had it on a table for everyone to sign in.  Koby had about 80 people at his Baptism.  He is one loved kid!

Yay for Grandparents!

We were so excited to have Grandpa & Grandma Skousen come and visit!  (The kids woke up so early and Mikaela had her clothes picked out the night before. :))The weather was perfect!  We haven't seen the sun in so long that we were blinded by it.  We had fun going to the park and hiking to some amazing waterfalls.  We really do live in a beautiful place!  Thanks for the fun visit G&G we love and miss you already!!

Two for One! Happy Birthday Koby and Happy Fathers Day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOBY!
Our Koby is eight.  Wow - where did the time go.  He is still as happy as he was when he was one.  He loves his family and friends.  He is sad to have school over, but very excited to be baptised next week.  We love you Koby, Boby, Fredrick Smith!  Aka Kobsters or Kobes!
We don't really do parties anymore so I told Koby he could invite a couple friends and we would take them Bowling.  They had fun!
Rest of the fam.
Kai loves to ride things!  Mikaela is such a good sister to always help him!
Donuts to top it off!

We took Koby to dinner and he got the worlds smallest ice cream cone. :)

Breakfast in bed!  Koby's puffy hair and Matt's puffy eyes - they make two cute boys!
(Matt had some allergic reaction the night before - his eyes puffed up really bad.)

Koby and Matt decided on Cheesecake for their dessert.  Koby informed me as he took the first bite that he only liked the crust!  Sad that he didn't even like his cake, but luckily Koby is happy 99% of the time and didn't mind.  He just had some left over fudge and he was happy!

The kids made tie cookies for their dad in Primary.
Happy Fathers day to the best DAD!

I figured I haven't been in any pictures, not that this is my greatest moment, but Mikaela and I had a special night together for activity days. I am sure glad I have my girl!!

First Otter Pop

Pretty Excited!
Kind of sour
Tastes pretty good.
Don't take it away!  (I was actually just trying to push the ice part up.)
Much better!

Kai's Soccer Award.

I am not sure how he did it, but Kai passed!
Way to go Kai!

Track meet/ School Play

Mikaela participated in track again this year. She did the 200 meter, 100 hurdles and 4*1 relay. She took first in the 200 and 100 and her team took third in the 4*1. :) We were there from 3pm to 7pm. I thought I was prepared as a mom, but the snacks were all gone by 4pm. So we had to buy lots more and try and entertain the three boys while we waited. They were very patient!

The younger boys trying to be entertained at the end of the year programs for school.
