New Year New Blog

I am not sure if anyone reads blogs anymore, but I have decided that starting 2012 I am going to stop scrapbooking and make my blog my new way of doing things.  I am completely burned out of scrapbooking.  I will still try and do Makai's and Karsten's until they are 8.  But as for the older kids and our family I am going to try this.  I will be putting on more pictures and more journaling and then will print them out every year.  I think it will be a lot easier!!  Happy New Year to Everyone!! :)

Funny Funny Kai!

So Kai just informed me that next year he wants a bat cookie party and then the year after that we are going to have a ghost cookie party for his B-Day.  I just smiled and said ok.  Then he said when he turned 100 he wanted to have a skeleton cookie party for all of his friends, but that 100 years is a really far away.  I told him that he would have to make the cookies himself because I would probably and hopefully be up in heaven.  He thought for a minute and then said well maybe Daddy can do it. :)

A few minutes later he was giving AJ some dog food and I said how much AJ appreciated it.  Then Kai said well AJ used to give me dog food when I was a dog.  (And then he rambled on for about 5 minutes of his life as a dog.  And yes it included a costume.)  :)

Oh how I love my Kai Kai. :)

Makai's 5th B-Day

Our sweet Kai Kai turned 5 in November.  He started with a pumpkin party the Saturday before his B-Day.
We painted pumpkins, painted faces, played pin the face on the pumpkin, pumpkin races, had a pumpkin cake and presents.  Kai LOVES PUMPKINS. :)

On Kai's B-Day.  Breakfast in bed.  Gotta love when the kids want a favorite cereal! :)

Also got to love when they want to go to McDonald's for their B-Day dinner. :)

Kai also loves dinosaurs.  About as much as pumpkins. :)

And he is obsessed with Bowser from Mario Cart.

Cute Family!
To our sweet Makai.  We honestly don't know where this kid came from.  He is the sweetest boy ever!  He is also in his own world  most of the time.  We love that he is so easy going and that he can cry a river with a seconds notice.  He loves school, gymnastics and fishes (to eat).  He has terrible teeth and now has two silver caps that we like to call pirate teeth.  We love our sweet Kai!

I didn't get any pictures of Thanksgiving except for the cute favors we made. :)

Celebrating the November B-Days with the Skousen family.  Cameron, Olivia and Kai.

The youngest Skousen grandchildren.  Sophie, Colton, and Karsten.

Happy Halloween!!

To start - Mikaela was in a play at school - Sleepy Hollow.

Next was her Activity Day Halloween party.  She went as a Diva.

And her Daddy went as.....one never knows. :)

We don't do Birthday Parties anymore, but I let the kids invite a couple of friends to do whatever they want.  Mikaela wanted to have a spa night.  Andy a very chocolate dessert!

The girls with face masks.  They were cracking me up because they couldn't move their faces!

Carving Pumpkins.

The finished product.  We decided on a theme this year of Angry birds.  Then we painted them and the blue and yellow decided to peel.  In the dark nobody could tell.

So Mikaela really wanted Karsten to dress up as a girl.  I will probably regret this, but she has always wanted a little sister so I decided to give in.  She went as his mom. :)  (So sorry Karsten - but nobody could tell you were a boy!! :))

Kai the mean Dinosaur.

Koby - also we have no name for his costume - just a typical Koby outfit.

Angry Birds and the Green Piggy.

A better look in the dark.

Go Celtic Storm!!

The crazy season of soccer is over for a few months.  We had a mid season party for Mikaela.  Her division takes this very serious! :)  It was also her b-day, and two other team mates.  Lets just say we have had way too much chocolate cake this week!!

Mikaela with a BYU Soccer player.

With Arielle and Jessa - The b-day girls.

With Megan and Jessa.  Mikaela and Jessa play center back together.  They do amazing!!

All Grown up - Happy Birthday Mikaela!!

First set of parties.  Mikaela and her cousin Luke have B-day's one day apart.

Breakfast in bed.  French toast with Grandma's white bread.  Can't have it any other way!!

Getting the new Super Mario Bros.  I am glad she still acted surprised even though Kai already told her. :)

Her best surprise - a new cruiser bike!!

At dinner with little red.

With Grandpa Smith at the Cheesecake factory.

Kobes and little red.

This is what Kai does all the time - that is why he is none of the other pictures.  I guess I shouldn't complain because he is so good.

Mikaela gets nervous when they sing to her at a restaurant but didn't mind the cheesecake they gave her!

Can't believe she is twelve!

Happy Birthday to our wonderful daughter Mikaela.  She brings us so much joy!!  She loves anything with chocolate, anything made with white flour and anything cheese related.  She got her temple recommend and is so excited to go the temple for the first time.  She is an amazing sister to her three younger brothers.  She is loved by all and is the sweetest angel!  We love you Mikaela!!

Kai's first field trip to the Fire Station

I got help with Kai's first field trip to the fire station.  It was pretty cool.  We are blessed to have my wonderful Sister-in-law Julie as Kai's teacher of the Tree House Preschool.  We love her!!

We made it to Lego Land!!!

We didn't realize that Lego Land was closed during the week and that put a damper on our trip, but we finally made it the day we were suppose to come home.  The kids loved, loved, loved it!!

Koby and Dark Vader.

Kai and Batman.

It was so great because Karsten could go on almost any ride.

Don't know who took this and why it is so weird, but it is the only picture I am in so I thought I would post it. :)

Star Wars - I am still amazed at what they can build with lego's!!

Every kid needed a picture in the shark.

Boat ride.

Mikaela and Koby got to have driving lessons.  The got a license and everything.  Pretty cool!

A car made out of lego's - way cool!

Kai's favorite - the Pumpkin.

This is for my Svendsen family.  Duplos from Denmark.  We loved this part!

Kai's other favorite part - T-Rex.

My three cute boys - this picture is actually at the Orange County Swap meet.

Kai's turn to drive his own car. :)
I have heard mixed reviews about Lego Land - but we loved it.  I would go again in a heart beat!! :)
