Happy Easter - not so happy Spring break. :(

Easter fun!

It was a little tricky with two broken arms - but this guys was a trooper!

Someone didn't want their picture taken......

For spring break we decided to go to Northern California to visit San Fransisco and to see the redwoods.  We stopped for an overnighter in Reno where we use to live and had dinner with our friends the Borino's.  Chad is a polaris rep and has lots of fun toys.  Unfortunately our sweet Karsten was thrown from one of those fun - not so fun toys and we ended up in the Reno Trauma unit.  We stayed there for 2 1/2 more days.  Karsten got a really bad concussion and had road rash all along his left side.  He ended up having a buckle fracture on his left ankle.  He was a pretty tough kid and it was about the worst experience I think I have ever been through.  I am just so grateful he is ok!  I am mostly grateful for all of his guardian angles that were watching over him!

With the Borino's.

After 3 days of no pain medication we finally have a smile on his face.  And a pretty cool boot.

We finally made it to Half moon bay.  The beach was pretty - but very cold and windy!

Kai was telling Mikaela about how he could control the wind.  It was a very intense story!!

Hiking through the redwoods part 1.  Karsten got a pretty cool ride.

The kids were having a little too much fun!  It was nice after all we had just been through.

Trying to walk.  Two cute boys with walking sticks and hurt legs.

Banana slugs - the kids thought they were really cool.

Hasten wanted lots of pictures - cutest boy ever!!

Lots of pretty beaches and scenery.

San Fran.

Getting their fortunes told.

Loving us some chocolate!

Got some cool handcuffs at Alcatrez.

Golden gate bridge.

The Redwoods are so big that you can drive a car through them.  We decided not to chance it with our car. :)

Trying to find the 4 leaf clover.

Mikaela had the camera for a while and took some really great shots!

Even though he was a tough boy - some parts he got super sad because he couldn't join in the hiking or fun.  :(

All the kids took turns eating the 4 leaf clover.

At the end of our hiking we found the best ice cream shop!!

On our way back home.  We got a lot of stares with three hurt people.  And a lot of questions.  Glad it is all behind us!!
