Martin's Cove

A visit to Martin's cove to see our Grandpa & Grandma Smith who serve as Missionaries there.  We got to take a mule to go all around where most kids who come have to walk.

We saw lots of Antelope.

With Grandpa Smith and the most amazing sculptures of the pioneers.  It literally brought tears to my eyes.

This man is holding a child reaching for his mom and a baby in his coat as they crossed the river.

This is the cove where many people died.  They were pretty amazing people.

The kids at the welcome gate.

Of coarse they had to try pulling some wagons. :)

Karsten thought he could do it by himself. :)

But then he thought it would be more fun to ride in the wagon.

Matt at Devils gate.  It really is of the Devil because this is almost the spot that I saw a Rattle Snake.  Yes me of all people - the person who hates snakes more then anyone on this earth.  I screamed and ran back the other way with Kai on my back.  (Grandpa said I almost gave him a heart attack but it was me who almost had the heart attack.)  I did not continue the with the rest of the gang and I most likely won't be returning to Martin's Cove.  But up to this point it was really amazing!

Grandpa and Karsten taking a rest.

Right before we left to come back home. Glad we got to visit Grandpa & Grandma Smith! :)
